Jeweller robbed at gunpoint

Police said that incident occurred on Sunday night. The robbers opened fire at the victim. A bullet allegedly brushed against his hand. He was rushed to the nearest hospital where his condition is said to be normal and he was discharged soon after the treatment.
According to the police on Sunday evening three robbers pointed a gun at jewellers when he was outside his residence and was about to enter his house. They opened fire at him, snatched the bag and ran away from the spot. The accused had covered their face and manage to run away from the spot, said a police official.
After getting the information about the incident, a police team immediately rushed to the spot and collected evidences from the crime scene. Police had recorded the entire incident and launched a manhunt for the robbers. ‘We have started investigations on the basis of the evidence. We are examining the evidences and they will soon be arrested,’ said a police official.
A case had been registered against the unknown persons in local police station, said police official. Investigators suspect an insider’s hand in the incident. ‘The possibility of someone tipping off the robbers about the movement of cash has not been ruled out,’ said a police official.
