Not willing to back down despite BJP backing its national President Nitin Gadkari, senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani on Wednesday remained defiant and expressed unhappiness for party leadership ignoring his advice.
'In this respect the party's decision has sapped my vitality,'said the senior lawyer. Though the BJP is not too pleased with Jethmalani, airing his opinion in the public. ' The party is well aware of what Jethmalani has said and we will take corrective action, senior leaders will take action on this' said BJP general secretary JP Nadda. The veteran lawyer however has made it clear that he won't resign.
The BJP leader informed that it was up to the disciplinary committee to take any action however, as of now no procedure has been initiated in the party. Jethmalani's statements have embarrassed the party and both leader of house, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley had issued a statement appealing leaders not to air views in public that hurt the image of the party.
Jethmalani however, defied the party orders and said that the gag order applies to senior leaders and not to him, he though added that he would not speak about the Gadkari controversy anymore.
