JD(U) B team of Cong: BJP

BJP fielded its senior leaders to hold press conferences in 23 cities across the country to attack the JD(U) government in Bihar and the Congress-led UPA for the blasts at Narendra Modi's rally in Patna in particular and their attitude towards combating terrorism.

‘The arrogant attitude of Congress and JD(U) after the blasts and their casual approach to the whole event is clearly visible. There was serious criminal negligence by the state government. The two parties are speaking in the same tone and their arrogance can be seen,’ BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters.

He said JD(U) had all along held anti-Congress belief but has now ‘converted’ to become ‘pro-Congress’.

‘JD(U) has become the B-team of Congress. The conduct, statements and actions of JD(U) show that it wants to vitiate the atmosphere. Congress leaders and its ministers are also making false charges that there was a BJP and RSS conspiracy behind the blasts,’ Naqvi said.

The party maintained that this ‘changing attitude’ of JD(U) and Congress towards terrorism is a challenge to the ‘country and the democratic set-up’.

Naqvi said home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde’s approach to the whole episode was ‘very negative’. Shinde attended a Bollywood music release programme on 27 October hours after the blasts.
‘Congress suggestion that we should not have gone ahead with the rally shows its mental bankruptcy.... It appears that Congress ministers were making merry over the blasts. The Home Minister is absolutely silent on the link between Indian Mujahideen and the blasts. It seems as if he is trying to cover-up,’ Naqvi said.
