Jaya sanctions Rs 52.11 cr for forest management

Chief minister Jayalalithaa has sanctioned Rs 52.11 crore for several initiatives aimed at sustaining the Joint Forest Management (JFM) plan efforts, which was implemented with funding assistance from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The Tamil Nadu Afforestation Project Phase-II, which was implemented at a cost of Rs.567.42 crore with JICA funding ended in 2012-13. To ensure sustainability of TAP activities, Jayalalithaa accorded sanction to implement sustainability, development initiatives.
