Members of the Jat community will hold a <g data-gr-id="10">mahapanchayat</g> in September to press for their demand of reservation to Jats of Bharatpur and Dholpur district under OBC. Jat Mahasabha’s Bharatpur president Fateh Singh said nearly two lakh people would participate in the meet on September 24, after which a memorandum will also be handed over to the district collector.
It was announced in a meeting organised by the Jat Mahasabha, which was addressed by the national general secretary of All-India Jat Mahasabha, Yudhveer Singh. He said Jats in Bharatpur and Dholpur are eligible for OBC quota and stressed that the recent move of Rajasthan HC, quashing a government order granting reservation to Jats was against the principle.
