Jat stir: Prakash Committee likely to submit report on May 13

The Prakash Singh Committee is believed to have found “negligence” on part of some officials and “concerted efforts” to control the situation by others during the Jat quota agitation in the state.

The committee was set up to probe the acts of omission and commission on part of civil administration and police officers during the agitation that took place in February.

Officials sources today said the committee is likely to submit its report to the state government on May 13. They added the committee has pointed “negligence” on part of certain officials and “concerted efforts” to control the situation by others.

The Jat quota agitation resulted in blockades of roads including national highways, violence and extensive damage to public and private properties in many districts of Haryana including Sonipat, Rohtak and Jhajjar.
