Jat community accuses BJP-Cong govts of neglect

The successive governments led by both BJP and Congress have continuously sidelined Jats from availing the benefits of reservation, Jat leader <g data-gr-id="27">Pawanjit</g> <g data-gr-id="28">Banwala</g> has said. Speaking at a meeting here on Saturday, the Akhil Bharatiya Adarsh Jat Mahasabha president accused the Haryana government as well as the Centre for showing “double-standards” on Jat reservation.

The same statistics that put Gujjar, Saini and Yadav under reservation, was not applied in the case of Jat community, he said.

“Why is the same statistics applied differently? It is an evil game played by political parties to restrict the growth of Jats,” <g data-gr-id="29">Banwala</g> said.

Not leaving behind the previous Hooda government in the state, the Jat leader said, “The previous Congress government left behind many loopholes in the reservation policy. Instead of taking it to the Parliament and getting it passed, the government was busy issuing notifications, that remained only on paper.”

<g data-gr-id="30">Banwala</g> along with other Jat leaders visited around 12 villages in the area here to make people aware of the rights of the community.

“We will organise our next meeting at Narwana city on August 11 where important decisions regarding our movement will be taken,” he said.

“We are ready to take the fight to the <g data-gr-id="34">street,</g> if our demands are not met,” he added.
