Japan to help Thailand in high-speed rail project

Thailand has signed a MoU with Japan to jointly begin a high-speed rail project in the country. The visiting Japanese transport minister Yuichiro Hata told reporters yesterday that Thailand would begin the rail-project next year and Japan would be extending all its support for it. ‘The document concerns sharing of railway know-how and co-sponsorship of seminars, and the two countries will set up a working group for exchanging information,’ Hata said.
