Jamia to reconduct B.Tech entrance exam

Following reports of question paper leak, Jamia Millia Islamia University on Tuesday said it would re-conduct the entrance examination for its B.Tech programme.

The entrance examination was conducted on June 13 and some university teachers claimed that they had received emails of the engineering test paper hours ahead of the exam. Taking cognisance of the reports, the varsity had decided to cancel its entrance exam for Bachelor of Dental Sciences (BDS), which was scheduled on Monday.

“A preliminary inquiry based on the details available, hints at the possibility of a breach in the examination system with respect to B.Tech Entrance Test that was conducted on June 13, 2015.

“Keeping in view the interests of the students who took the entrance examination and to maintain highest degree of propriety and credibility of the examination process, the university administration has decided to cancel the above- mentioned test,” Jamia spokesperson Mukesh Ranjan said.

“A fresh B.Tech Entrance Test would be conducted on June 27. The postponed BDS Entrance Test will now be held on June 25,” he said.
