Opposing Planning Commission's move of bringing changes in central fund releasing pattern, the Jairam Ramesh has written a letter to Montek Singh Alhuwalia. In his letter, the minister has said that transferring control to finance ministry for all the funds will leave other departments as mere bystanders. The minister said in the letter 'not to press ahead with this move under any garb'.
Expressing grave concern over the move to convert flagship programmes like MGNREGA, rural road scheme and drinking water and sanitation from CSS to ACA programmes, the minister said that this would cause severe delays in disbursement of funds to the states.
