Jail inmate stabbed by 3 prisoners

A 30-year-old under-trial prisoner was reportedly stabbed by three inmates outside his cell in Rohini Jail on Wednesday evening. The injured has been identified as Chandra Prakash. According to sources, the incident took place at around 6.30 pm when Prakash went out of his cell for fresh air. The three inmates identified as Joga, Karan and Mukesh Pandit allegedly came and started hitting him with sharp objects made out of tube lights and spoons. Sources further said that Prakash somehow managed to free himself from their clutches and informed the warden. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for injuries on his back, stomach, hand and face. Accused in several cases of murder, attempt to murder and robbery, Prakash was attacked by Joga some time back. After this attack, they were alloted separate cells. A case of attempt to murder has been registered at the Samaypur Badli police station against the culprits. Further investigation is on.
