Hundreds of people gathered for the jagran at Trilokpuri on Friday, organised amid tight security arrangements. The person heading the organising committee, along with his brothers, were arrested during the clashes, wrote letters to the prime minister and ministry of home affairs demanding a CBI probe into the incident.
‘It is a fight against the anti-socials and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) should dig into the origin of the communal clashes in Trilokpuri,’ said Balraj Kumar Talwar, head of the jagrata organising committee in Trilokpuri block 20, from where the tension began.
Balraj, along with his brothers Tilak and Gaurav Talwar, were arrested on 27 October in connection with the clashes at Trilokpuri.
In fact, the youngest of them, Gaurav, was later found to be a ‘bad character’ on the police records and swords were recovered from his possession.
Balraj further said that intervention of CBI in the case of Trilokpuri clashes is very necessary for ‘unbiased’ investigation of the matter, which, according to him, hasn’t happened so far.
On Friday, Delhi Police had relaxed the prohibitory orders imposed under Section 144 CrPC for 13 hours between 6 am and 7 pm.
