It’s Manmohan versus Rajnath at NDMC civic centre

Congress councillors on Tuesday placed a cut out of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh against a similar promotional cut out of BJP president Rajnath Singh. Rajnath’s cut out was put up on the occasion of the inauguration of North Delhi Municipal Corporation’s medical college last week but was not removed despite demands made by the Congress.

Singh was the chief guest at the inauguration function.

‘The cut out of Rajnath Singh and pary posters should have been removed immediately after the function. We complained to senior officers but no action was taken so we placed a cut out of the Prime Minister,’ said Mukesh Goel, leader of Opposition in North DMC. 

He further claimed that the BJP was misusing its power to make it a permanent feature at the civic centre — the headquarter of the corporation. The cut out and party posters were put up at the main gate of the civic centre last Thursday.

‘The Congress is trying to make an issue out of nothing. In the past also, we had functions but the cut outs and posters were removed after a few days,’ said Mahindra Nagpal, leader of house in North DMC. He further added that directions have been issued already to remove cut outs of both the leaders at the earliest.
