Italian marines to appear before special court today

Italian marines accused for killing Indian fisherman are likely to appear before a Delhi court for appropriate custody, as per the direction of Supreme Court on Wednesday. Earlier National Investigation Agency (NIA) had requested the court in a plea to take steps for having the custody of the two accused according to directions of the Supreme Court. On 18 January, 2013 the Supreme Court had said, ‘Till such time as the special court is set up, the petitioner nos. 2 and 3 (both the marines) will be under the custody of this (apex) court.’ Following this additional sessions judge Dharmesh Sharma had issued notices against marines Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Girone asking them to appear before him.
