Italian campaign to sell goods in India

In an attempt to promote Italian goods and services in the Indian market, the Italian Trade Agency will launch a campaign that would give Indian consumers a glimpse of the best made  products of Italy.

Italy is keen to create  awareness in India of its products and services  through a campaign Italy: The Extraordinary Commonplace, a celebration of the best of Made in Italy.

Talking about the campaign, Italian Trade Agency Commissioner Francesco Pensabene said, “We’re happy to announce the opening of this campaign and we hope that the friendship between India and Italy will go beyond business.” The campaign will begin with a two-day event titled ‘La Dolce Vita: A celebration of Italian Fashion, luxury and lifestyle’ in association with DLF Emporio on March 11-12.

This event will be followed by more events that will introduce Italian lifestyle to the Indian consumers. The two year campaign will focus on various sectors such as design, food, food processing, furniture, infrastructure, smart cities and luxury. It will take place all across India and will not be region-specific.

With more than 400 companies based in India, Italian Trade Agency aims to expand the relation and increase their export to India. They’re also looking at investment opportunities so that the India-Italy businesses can flourish.

The Italian commissioner talked about the potential of Indian market and said that they’ve chosen India because India has the growth rate of 12.6% which is the highest compared to the other BRICS countries.

The ITA however, has emphasised on furniture sector as Italian technology in modular kitchen and is world-renowned and the scope India offers makes them keen to enter the Indian market.

“The furniture sector seems more promising and hence this particular sector will be focused upon in the country,” he said.
