The Indian School of Mines has written to the West Bengal government requesting for land to set up a regional centre in the city, a senior official of the Dhanbad-based institute said here today. The ISM had first written to the state government in 2013, after which it contacted then state education minister Bratya Basu in this connection, ISM Director Prof DC Panigrahi said.
“We are waiting for government’s response to the request. We have written to CM to grant us a piece of land to set up a regional institute here,” Panigrahi said. The ISM is looking for around 300 acres of land choosing Rajarhat as a preferable location for the regional institute, the director said.
