The news about being the topper has boosted her morale and has acted as a catalyst to crack the national level entrance test – Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) — for entry in prestigious law universities scheduled to be held on May 8, 2016.
“I want to be a lawyer. Currently, I am studying for Common Law Admission Test which is on May 8,” said Adya to Millennium Post. Joshi has been a student of humanities from Shri Ram School in Gurgaon. She scored 396 out of 400, aggregating to a whopping 99 per cent. Not only this but also she scored a cent percent in three subjects viz History, Political Science and Sociology with 98 and 96 in Economics and English respectively.
The ISC topper is the only child of her parents. Her father is a communication professional in a Goa-based firm while her mother is working with an economic think-tank firm in Gurgaon. Joshi is deeply concerned with discrimination of girls particularly in village areas of Gurgaon and other districts of Haryana.
“I feel lucky that I never faced such discrimination in my family but it is sad that it exists in our society even today. In future I shall do my best to combat this social issue,” she added. When asked about the number of hours she studied before exams she replied: “There were no fixed hours.
I used to study for a few hours, take a break, again study for a few hours and then take a break. I didn’t study for 15-20 hours a day at a stretch. I don’t think it is possible.” Giving all credit to her parents and regarding them to be the driving force behind her success, Joshi said: “They supported me completely and never pressurised me. In fact, they told me they don’t care how much marks I get. They never bothered me or asked me to get about a particular score.”
