Is Vodfaone facing network connectivity problems in Delhi?

Consumers, who subscribe to Vodafone telecommunications, have been facing serious inconveniences due to weak indoor coverage. Concerns over connectivity have manifested into absence of signals on their mobile phones and abrupt disconnection of calls.

Despite the presence of their circle head office in south-east Delhi’s Okhla Industrial area, people working in Okhla Phase-III have faced maximum inconveniences arising out of network issues. The obstruction is reportedly due to network congestion and issues related to mobile towers in these affected areas.

Millennium Post found several other areas where Vodafone customers are fed up with the absence of network connectivity. Areas affected include, Mayur Vihar Phase-I, Saket, Vasant Kunj, East of Kailash, Khanpur, Dwarka, Naraina, Badarpur and Prasad Nagar, amongst others.

Vodafone India Limited, formerly Vodafone Essar Limited, is the second largest mobile network operator in India after Airtel in terms of their subscriber base. Vodafone offers mobile phone, mobile internet, SMS and voice mail to customers and businesses. It has more than 160 million customers till December 2013.

The maximum numbers of complaints received by their customer service centers are related to weak indoor coverage. Also, the internet does not work in the basement and at night their speeds slow down remarkably. ‘On numerous occasions I end up missing important calls and messages. Whenever I remain in my office in Okhla, indoor signal dies out rapidly. However the moment I step out of the office premises, my mobile phone starts displaying network connectivity,’ said Rahul Kumar (26), who has been facing these issue since the past two months.

‘Due to poor connectivity, incoming and outgoing calls abruptly end in between conversations. Since the part two weeks I have made dozens of complaints to the service provider. However, so far I haven’t received any positive response, despite promises by the operator that the problem will be resolved soon,’ Meena Rai, a house wife residing in East of Kailash complained.

‘Efforts are being made to restore full network connectivity in these particular areas,’ said a spokesperson from Vodafone.
