Iron rods pierce man’s body in Noida car accident, victim dies

A man died in an accident in Noida on Friday morning, when his car rammed into a truck loaded with iron rods in Sector 7, Noida. Witnesses have alleged that delay in arrival of the police rescue team was the main reason for the victim’s death, as he couldn’t be taken out for more than two hours.
According to police, the accident occurred at approximately 7.30 am on Friday when three friends of a multi-national company- IDC in Sector 57 were returning to their residences in Sector 52, Noida in their I-10 car. When they reached a turn on the road near Sector 7, they rammed into a stationary truck loaded with iron rods.
The rods broke through the glass in front of the car, and pierced the body of 33-year-old Amit Kumar Srivastava, who was sitting in the front seat of the car. Srivastava died on the spot. A resident of Rajasthan, he had been working as senior account manager in the company. Some rods pierced the hands of Vikrant (27), while Sudhir escape unhurt. The injured have been admitted to Fortis Hospital for treatment.
But according to sources, the truck was in motion and the rods fell down when the driver applied the brakes suddenly.
A case has been registered in Sector 58 police station and an investigation is being carried out. Sources have alleged that the delay in the arrival of the police rescue team led to Srivastava’s death. Though, the Fortis Hospital record shows he had been admitted to the hospital at 7.30 am, witness say, he was taken out of the car by the police only around 9.30 am.
