IPL spot-fixing: Mudgal panel seeks two more months

The Justice Mukul Mudgal panel appears to have found no prosecutable evidence against cricket board president N Srinivasan relating to irregularities in the 2013 IPL tournament and is learnt to have sought two more months to complete the Supreme Court assigned inquiry.

Sources said the panel had not yet been able to fully inquire into certain charges, which could be verified only by interviewing some cricketers who are part of the Indian team currently in England. On Friday, the panel submitted an interim report on certain unverified charges against Srinivasan to the apex court.

The court had on May 17 asked the Mudgal committee to probe the charges, which the panel had submitted in a sealed cover along with its report on IPL spot-fixing and betting controversy, against Srinivasan and 12 others including some eminent cricketers.
