IP University receives 1.82 lakh UG applications

This year Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP University) has received 1.82 lakh applications for admission to various under graduate (UG), post graduate (PG), PhD and other programmes, as against overall figure of 1.72 lakh last year.

In comparison to last year’s 37,000, online applications has remarkably surged this year. Ninety thousand prospective students have applied online this year.

‘The newly introduced BCom (Hons) course got good response and the university has received 9,622 applications for roughly 1000-odd seats. The university has received 7,133 applications for MBA, 4,270 for MCA, 5,394 for BCA, 10,119 for BA/ BBA LLB, 8,454 for BEd, 21,174 for BBA. ‘Like last year, this year too, the university has received 64,794 applications for B tech programmes. The university also has received 2,200 applications for PhD programmes so far,’ said Nalini Ranjan, an official of IP University.

Ranjan also claimed that as per estimates, the application is expected to reach two  lakh this year as admission process for some of the programmes is still on.

Last date for sale as well as submission of application form for PhD programme in Mass Communication is 30 April.
