IP university organises national conference on financial markets

University School of Management Studies (USMS), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, in collaboration with National Stock Exchange (NSE), organised a national conference on Emerging Issues in Indian Financial Markets at Dwarka campus on Monday.
Delivering the presidential address, D K Bandyopadhyay said, ‘The Indian financial markets are growing under the supervision of regulators such as SEBI, RBI, IRDA and so on. We have enormous potential to attract foreign institutional investors.’
Reena Aggarwal of Georgetown University, USA, said the coming decade is of emerging markets such as China and India. They are establishing major economic hubs to attract foreign institutional investors.
Rana Usman, head of NSE, Delhi, said, ‘In the age of globalisation, financial literacy is also essential.
It needs to be introduced at school and college levels in all states of the country.’
Anu Singh Lather, Dean, USMS, said on the occasion that India financial and capital markets have shown unprecedented stability and growth during the last decade.
Divya Gakhar, convenor of the conference, said, it was aimed at highlighting the importance of financial markets for developing countries like India.
