IOA election to go under Sports Code

The elections to the Indian Olympic Association later this month will be held under the Sports Code of the government while the constitution and bye-laws of the IOA would to be used only as a supporting factor..
This was decided in the meeting of Election Commission constituted for the IOA polls, headed by former CEC of India S Y Qureshi.
V K Bali, member of the IOA Election Commission, issued a statement saying that ‘wherever there are specific provisions governing the elections in the Sports Code of the GOI, these will be applicable’.
