Inter-state criminals wanted for murders and robberies arrested by Crime Branch

In yet another anti-gangster operation launched by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police, the Special Team of Crime Branch nabbed two inter-state desperate criminals of the Ajay Barwala gang. The accused are Rahul Rana (26) and Vikash (24). 

Previously involved in six sensational cases of murder and robbery, police recovered two loaded weapons alongwith 7 live cartridges and one country-made pistol alongwith 4 live cartridges. An Alto car has also been recovered from their possession. “On March 6, police received a tip-off that the duo, involved in several cases of murder, attempt to murder and robbery, will be coming to Begampur via Barwala Road, Sec-36 Rohini/crossing Bhagwan Mahavir Road to kill the brother of Devender Rathi at around 5.00 pm in a white Alto car,” said a senior police officer.

Based on this information, a team was formed and a trap was laid to apprehend these two. On march 7, the trap was laid and the white Alto car was intercepted by the team and they were held. During sustained interrogation, they revealed that Rahul has done B A from MD university. After he fell into bad company, he started committing crimes and became part of the Ajay Barwala gang.

He further disclosed that Ajay Barwala met him in Haryana Jail. Since they come from the same village, he befriended Ajay. He again met Ajay after he was released from jail. Ajay jumped parole and killed one Devender Rathi in Jan 2016 with whom a dispute of cable operations was going on. After death of Devender Rathi, his brother is looking after the cable operations. 

So, Ajay decided to eliminate the brother of Devender Rathi. Ajay met him near KMP Highway (Haryana) and asked him to kill the brother of Devender Rathi. He procured the arms from one Sonu and contacted Vikas , who was recently released from jail and they were going to execute the murder of Devender Rathi as per plan.

On sustained interrogation, accused Vikash corroborated the above version of Rahul He further disclosed that his father had committed suicide and due to financial crisis, he dropped his studies at secondary level. Due to bad company, he started committing crimes and was also associated with the notorious criminals.
