Intelligent lighting system to illuminate DND flyway

The Noida Toll Bridge Company Ltd (NTBCL), operator of DND flyway, while announcing to adopt green energy concepts into its day to day operations, said that all the 700 highway and toll plaza lights of 9.5-kilometre long carriageway would be replaced by the LED technology. The other operations at the toll equipment, customer service centers, office automation system, office building lighting, etc will also be updated for the solar energy.

The toll authority said that at present they get power supply from UPPCL in Noida. The BSES Rajdhani and BSES Yamuna also provide electricity to the DND flyway for the Mayur Vihar link road and Delhi side of the flyway. The total consumption of electricity at the DND Flyway comes to around 750 KW in a month. The officials said that combining two state-of-the-art ecological technologies - solar power with LED lights - will be <g data-gr-id="28">environment friendly</g> and it gives better lighting system.

The solar panels will be installed at shoulders and slopes of the road and <g data-gr-id="19">other available area</g> such as plaza canopy, terrace of buildings etc. for the proper utilization of the available resources. 

The lights will be able to function in all seasons and it will be proof from water and heat. Replacement of existing sodium bulbs into LED lights as well installing solar set up will be done simultaneously.
