Delhi high court on Tuesday asked the three Municipal Corporations here to apprise it about the preventive steps taken by it with regard to breeding of dengue mosquitoes in the national Capital.
A Bench of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Jayant Nath directed the civic bodies to file an additional affidavit in this regard explaining the steps proposed to be taken by them to contain the vector-borne disease.
“All the three corporations shall file an additional affidavit explaining the preventive steps taken by them and steps proposed to be taken with regard to the breeding of mosquitoes,” the Bench said.
The court was hearing a plea filed by law student Gauri Grover who has sought lodging of FIR against directors of hospitals which had denied treatment to a seven-year-old boy who died of dengue and whose parents subsequently committed suicide last year.
In her petition, she had alleged that the boy had died due to the callous attitude of the hospitals.
The High Court had earlier asked the Centre and Delhi government on another plea by advocate Arpit Bhargava to explain the steps taken by them to contain the disease while voicing concern over the rise of dengue cases.
