India will erect single row fencing instead of double row fencing in several areas along the border with Bangladesh, officials said here Tuesday. About 80 percent of the 856-km India-Bangladesh international border in Tripura has so far been fenced with double rows to check trans-border movement of militants, prevent infiltration, and curb border crimes. 'More than 61 patches of the India-Bangladesh border with Tripura could not be fenced following objectionS by villagers,' a Border Security Force (BSF) spokesperson said. 'Bangladesh has been objecting to the fencing at the zero line,' the spokesperson added.
