India and Germany have inked agreements to strengthen cooperation in science and technology. Union Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Harsh Vardhan and the German Federal Minister for Education and Research Johanna Wanka signed the agreement on Monday.
At the meet held before the 3rd Indo-German Consultative meeting, the leaders expressed satisfaction over cooperation  in the area, which is now recognised as one of the strategic pillars in the overall bilateral relationship.Â
Both the sides reiterated that they would continue to support and strengthen the basic research component of collaboration, which will drive future technology. India is investing approximately 14 million Euro for the construction of an additional beam line and access to the synchrotron facility at PETRA-III in DESY at Hamburg. India will invest 36 million Euro for the construction of the international Facility for Antiproton-Ion Research at Darmstadt.Â
