In fresh twist, CDR scandal reaches MEA corridors

Apart from selling the call details record of the targeted persons, the detective agency — BLS Management Solution Pvt Ltd, whose office is at Barakhamba Road, was also hired by the MEA and was in a business of verifying visas. 

On Monday, the official website of BLS Management Solution, which is www.blsms.com, has been suspended by the company itself. Till Sunday late evening, the website was functional. Sources privy to investigation said that the company is in process of destroying the evidences against them.

It is important to mention that Delhi Police Crime Branch had arrested Sanjeev Chaudhary, the Senior Manager of BLS Management Solution Pvt Ltd. Several CDRs were recovered from the computers installed in the office of the company.

 Besides this, several documents recovered from BLS Company indicate rampant use of CDRs for spying their targets. BLS Companies’ HOD Vinod Chaudhary, Operation Manager Sunil Pathak and company owners are all on the run.

Sources further said that whenever the details of the visa applicants were shared with BLS, they illegally store it in their data base and later use it to access private details of the applicants. Further, these details were misused and circulated to applicants’ rivals.

According to sources, the concerned authorities in MEA have been informed about the illegal activities of BLS after which the department is likely to suspend the contract and necessary action will be taken.

Apart from this, a name of one more MNC has cropped up that was using the CDR accessed by the detective agencies for their corporate clients. The senior police officials close to investigation suspects that the agencies are also linked to the corporate groups with the help of a corporate middleman.

 These companies further used to extort people and misuse their private details.Meanwhile, raids were also conducted in two cities in Madhya Pradesh. Roles of other police officials posted in Surveillance Cell at the office of IG Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, are also under scanner. But the cops have given a clean chit to senior officials of the department.
