‘Impressed with Modi’, Manoj Tiwari joins BJP

Ending all speculations, famous Bhojpuri singer Manoj Tiwari on Thursday joined the BJP in presence of city party president Vijay Goel and former BJP national president Nitin Gadkari who is in-charge of Delhi elections.

‘I am deeply impressed with Narendra Modi’s vision for the country so I have joined the party. I will campaign for the party in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections,’ Tiwari said after joining the BJP.

Tiwari seems to have undergone a change of heart because he was quite vocal in his criticism against the BJP when he contested from Gorakhpur parliamentary segment in 2009 on a Samajwadi Party ticket.

As per sources, Tiwari has been assured of a ticket in the parliamentary election of 2014 from Delhi.

He is likely to be fielded from either east or north-east Delhi parliamentary seats. But some leaders in the party say he may be fielded against Congress’ Mahabal Mishra from west Delhi.
