IIMC results out, institute mulls more regional courses

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has declared the results for admission to its post graduate diploma programmes. The institute has called 1,118 students from across India for interview, who will have to compete for 410 seats in various streams across six campuses in the country.
“These students will be evaluated rigorously by our interview panels, consisting of academicians and professionals from the industry,” said KG Suresh, Director General, IIMC.
The entrance exam was held on May 29 at 18 centres in major cities across India. About 1,118 candidates qualified for 410 seats. He added that nearly 5,000 students had applied for the written test, seeking admission for diploma courses in English Journalism, Hindi Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, Broadcast Journalism (RTV), Odia and Urdu Journalism. “The interviews are scheduled from July 4 to 8 at IIMC-Delhi. Interviews for Odia and Urdu Journalism will be held on July 2 and July 11 at Delhi and Dhenkanal campuses respectively,” he added. The institute is planning to increase the number of regional language courses it has to offer in the coming years.
