IGNOU holds vigilance awareness week

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) recently celebrated the ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ (29 October 2012 to 3 November 2012) in the vice chancellor’s block at the university’s headquarters in the capital.

The vice chancellor, Gopinath Pradhan, administered a pledge among all the directors of 21 schools and heads of divisions/ centres/ unit. He made them solemnly pledge to bring about integrity and transparency in all the spheres of their activities.

Pradhan said, ‘We also pledge that we shall work unstintingly for eradication of corruption in all spheres of life. We shall remain vigilant and work towards the growth and reputation of our organisation. Through our collective efforts, we shall bring pride to our organisations and provide value based service to our countrymen. We shall do our duty conscientiously and act without fear or favour.’

U S Tolia, registrar and chief vigilance officer-incharge of IGNOU, read the pledge and exhorted all the employees to work diligently and honestly.
