IGL, OMCs to open 200 more CNG outlets in Delhi: Pradhan

Petroleum and Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met DG Centre of Science & Environment Sunita Narain to discuss issues related to cleaner fuel in transportation sector especially in the context of India’s voluntary commitment on INDC and ongoing meeting of COP 21 on Tuesday.
Pradhan outlined the various initiatives that have been taken and are under implementation under clean and green fuel policy of the present government. He informed that IGL and OMCs are working out to open 200 additional CNG outlets in Delhi within next few months which will smoothen the supply of CNG in the city. New CNG stations will come up in the NCR.
Pradhan said all efforts will be made to make CNG a preferred fuel and the CNG initiative becomes a social movement to deal with pollution. Secretary, senior officials of MoPNG and CMD/MD/senior officers of IOCL, GAIL, BPCL, HPCL, IGL and ED, PCRA were also present in the meeting.
