ICSE results: Girls outshine boys, specially-abled do well

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) 10th results were announced on Wednesday by the boards.

A total of as many as 1,49,087 students were registered with the boards for examination from 1,841 schools across India.

Following the trend, the girls did better than their male counterparts. While the pass percentage of girls was 98.79, boys’ pass percentage stood marginally lower at 97.88.

Southern India topped with the highest pass percentage of 99.59 while Northern region including Delhi was the worst performer having 1,359 unsuccessful students, around 2.51 per cent of 54,099, total number of students who wrote the exams from North India.

The specially-abled students too performed well in the exams. Out of 749 candidates with dyslexia, 49 scored more than 90 per cent marks. Eight students also took their exams from the hospital.
