‘I don’t make a mistake twice’

Sebastian Vettel’s stature and maturity as a Formula One driver has grown with each passing race and the German ace from Red Bull believes the secret of success lies in not ‘repeating his mistakes.’ The year he joined the Austrian team, he became the youngest driver to end runner-up in the Drivers’ Championship and the following year he became the youngest driver to become a world champion.

‘Whether you have won the last championship or not, you have to start again and I have proved that I am good enough to do that. Still, we do make mistakes but more importantly, I do not do that twice.

When I won the first championship, it was a big relief. That was a great feeling. But it’s not an advantage, if you have won the last race or the last championship,’ the 25-year-old defending champion said. He is two-time defending champion this season and leading the drivers table with 215 points with four races left.
