‘I asked for way, cops beat me’

In a shocking incident reported on Sunday, policemen in Noida beat up a chemist and his family members, when they asked for an alternative route to avoid jam-packed DND flyover.
In his written complaint filed with police at Sector 20 in Noida, the victim, Rajesh Pandey, alleged that the cops beat up him and his family members last week when he asked them about an alternative route, as DND was blocked.
‘I came out of the my Tavera car to enquire about the a road that would lead to Tughlakabad without using DND, but the cops misbehaved with me. When I protested, they broke the head ight of my car and thrashed my younger brother and two other relatives, who had come out to save me,’ said Pandey.
He added that he could not note down their names as they were not wearing name plates.
Superintendent of Police in Noida, Yogesh Singh, said the matter is being investigated and appropriate action will be taken against errant cops.
