Husband held prime suspect in wife’s murder

A 30-year-old woman was allegedly found murdered at her house in North-east Delhi’s Seelampur area on Wednesday morning. According to the police, the victim, identified as Firoza was found lying in a pool of blood at her house in Shastri Park area at around 11 am. Her husband is absconding and the police suspect him to be behind the murder. No arrests have been made so far.
Police said Firoza’s relative came to check on her in the morning when he found her body in the drawing room. He immediately raised an alarm and informed the neighbours and other family members about the incident. The victim was then taken to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead. Doctors at the hospital claimed that she was attacked on her head with a sharp object.
As per the statements of Firoza’s family members, she was a native of West Bengal and was living with her husband at Shastri Park area for the past few years. Police suspect Firoza’s husband to be involved in the murder since he is missing after the incident.
According to the police, Firoza’s body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact time of death.
A case of murder under Section 302 of the IPC has been registered at the Seelampur police station against unknown person.
Police have started investigation and are questioning the family members, friends and locals of the area. Raids are being conducted to trace Firoza’s husband.
