‘HuJI conspiring another coup in B’desh to turn down govt’

The lead was received by the Indian external agency RAW who passed it to the union home ministry. Also, the central government has alerted its Bangladesh counterpart about a bigger plan of HuJI backed by their sister organizations including Indian Mujahiddin (IM) to launch Jihad against the Awami League government.

Already, NIA Director General Sharad Kumar on Friday took stock of the progress in the investigation in the Burdwan blast case. He had visited West Bengal and left for Burdwan where he met NIA investigators and assessed the progress in the probe into the blast at Khagragarh in Burdwan town on October 2 that claimed the lives of two suspected terrorists of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh.

The leads came in the wake of Burdwan blasts on October 2. It was learnt that the conspiracy to topple the Sheikh Hasina government was hatched in 2010. Soon after Hasina came to power in 2009 she had launched a massive coming operation towards terror organization forcing most of them to take shelter in the India to hatch the conspiracy. Interestingly, the Indian intelligences were aware about the bigger ploy of the terrorists group in 2010 and already passed it to its counterpart in Bangladesh.

In a confidential letter issued by the union home ministry - a copy with the Millennium Post - it was mentioned that Ajhaz Nazrul Islam, president of Bag-e-Jannat Qawmi Madrasa at Benapole (Indo-Bangladesh border), held a secret meeting where it was planned to wage Jihad against Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh.

In the meeting, two senior HuJI leaders including Moulana Faysal and Abu Sufiyan (HuJI central committee member of Jessore division) were present.

The home ministry’s alert letter reads, ‘During the meeting Abu Sufian criticized the policies of Awami League government and called upon its cadres to prepare themselves to motivate the people for Jihad against the Hasina government.’

It also reads as quoting Abu Sufiyan, ‘The main objective are building mosques, madrasas, orphanages and Islamic research centers for preaching Islam and advocating jihad and propagating anti-Indian matters among the people of Bangladesh.’

Sources said the extremists groups are against Sheikh Hasina’s for many issues including for her closeness to Indian government in New Delhi. Intelligence inputs also suggests that this time HuJI leaders will once again encash the opportunity to win the sentiments of various government armed forces in Bangladesh who are not satisfied with the facilities given by the Bangladesh government.

On February 25, 2009 extremists groups including HuJI masterminded a daring attack at Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) headquarters in Pilkhana in Dhaka where they brain washed the BDR jawans to carry out attack against senior army officers for enjoying more power, facilities and for exploiting them (junior BDR jawans).
