Huge rush hour traffic jams as rain lashes city

Water logging in several areas of the National Capital Region has made things worse for rush hour traffic.

Many people, stuck in traffic, have been tweeting about the jams. The rain also brought some much-needed relief for Delhi residents reeling under hot and humid weather conditions.

Earlier, during the day, the maximum temperature was registered three notches above normal at 36.8 degree Celsius. Humidity levels also remained high as per oscillating between 78 and 57 degree Celsius.

Delhiites woke up to a humid and overcast morning with the MeT department predicting rainfall during the day. The minimum temperature was recorded at 28.9 degree Celsius, two notches above normal. According to the MeT department, the amount of rainfall and dip in minimum temperature will be available only after 8:30 am on Friday. Weatherman has forecast a generally cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunderstorms in some parts of the city on Friday.
