Hudco, NCF sign pact to boost CSR activities

The public sector Housing & Urban Development Corporation Ltd [Hudco], and National Culture Fund [NCF] a government-notified Public Charitable Trust established by the Ministry of Culture in 1996, have reached an understanding to work together by utilising their respective strengths for improvement of the environmental conditions, basic facilities and utilities, protection, preservation, value enhancement and presentation of the monuments and sites [including the areas in vicinity] representing the cultural heritage of the country.

For achievement of the above objectives under CSR activities, Hudco Senior Executive Director S K Chaudhary, and NCF Member Secretary Deepak Ashish Kaul executed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday in the presence of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation and Culture Minister Kumari Selja, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Secretary A K Misra, Culture Secretary Sangeet Gairola and HUDCO Chairman & Managing Director V P Baligar at New Delhi today.

Under the MoU, HUDCO and NCF will cooperate in the areas of training and capacity building for sensitisation of local functionaries/ implementing agencies for orientation towards cultural and heritage preservation, initiate joint research in the areas of traditional materials and technologies, damage assessment and retrofitting, including strengthening measures and prevention of damages by taking up pilot projects, improvement, value enhancement and revitalisation of existing museums including state of art technology display, interpretations and presentation, for improving the environmental conditions in and around world/other heritage sites.

NCF will identify conceptualise and work out modalities for implementation of the projects and HUDCO shall provide financial assistance for implementation of these projects.
