HP government to probe Ramdev land deal: Virbhadra

he Himachal Pradesh government would order an inquiry into the 28-acre land given to Yoga guru Ramdev in Solan and permission to a trust linked to social activist Prashant Bhushan to purchase tea garden near Palampur, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said on Tuesday.
The state government will order the probe to find out whether the stipulated laws were followed in both the deals, he told reporters after taking oath as MLA for the eighth time.
Kumud Bhushan Educational Society linked to Bhushan was allowed to buy a land for the construction of an educational institution on 2 Feb, 2010.
The Commission constituted by the previous BJP government to look into the benami land deals in the past has no relevance and such commissions contribute nothing, he said.
On being asked about the possibilities of restructuring of districts, Singh said it was not a political exercise and the Himachal Pradesh government will not act in a ‘haste’ on the issue.
‘The new districts are not created by Chief Minister or the Cabinet but it is an administrative exercise for which a Commission is appointed,’ he said.
When asked whether he proposed to set up a Commission for reorganisation or creation new districts Singh said, ‘We will cross the bridge when it comes but nothing would be done in haste.’
In another development Sonia Gandhi nominated Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu as PCC President till permanent appointment of for this post will be done.
