Hours after filing case, 18-year-old stabbed to death outside his residence

A day after an 18-year-old boy registered a case against a 20-year-old at Sangam Vihar police station, he was stabbed to death by six persons outside his residence on Wednesday. The accused against whom the victim had filed a complaint has been arrested. The remaining accused, however, are yet to be identified.

The deceased has been identified as Ravi, lived in Sangam Vihar area of South-East Delhi. He was a Gramin Seva driver. According to the police, few days ago he had a heated argument with one Arman near a market in the area. After Ravi returned home, he approached the police station and filed a complaint against Arman.

On late Tuesday night, while returning home with his friend Imtiaz, he saw Arman standing with his gang of five people. On seeing them, the duo tried to escape and all the six persons ran towards Ravi and caught him.

Ravi was stabbed multiple times in his stomach and throat. Leaving him in a pool of blood, they managed to flee the spot. Meanwhile, some of the gang members also caught Imtiaz and thrashed him too. Locals made a call to the Police Control Room and the duo was rushed to AIIMS. The doctors declared Ravi dead on arrival whereas Imtiaz is still undergoing treatment. After conducting raids on Tuesday night, the cops managed to arrest Arman.

During investigation, it was learnt that Arman’s gang has a wanted criminal named Shammi, who had a lot of cases registered against him.

“A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at the Sangam Vihar police station and probe is on to trace the other accused,” the police official said.
