Hospital waives off charges to honour brave cop

To honour the bravery of an injured constable, the Pushpanjali Crosslay Hospital in Vaishali has decided to waive off charges for his treatment. The constable, Mohammad Yameen Khan, was shot at by car-jackers while trying to prevent a car theft. He, however, managed to nab one of them despite bullet injuries.

The incident took place around 11 pm, when Khan was on patrol in his area under Abhay Khand police post. He saw some people trying to steal a car and chased them. One of the accused pumped in bullets into Khan, but, despite being injured, he caught hold of one of the them while two others managed to flee.

Khan was immediately rushed to Pushpanjali Crosslay Hospital.

‘The hospital administration has decided to waive off all charges and decided to bear all expenses,’ said Dr Sandeep Jain, who operated on Khan. ‘He has wounds  on his right thigh. He is recovering fast and will be able to go home very soon. Luckily for Khan, the bullet spared any major blood vessels,’ added Jain. Meanwhile, Gorakh Nath Yadav, Inspector, Indirapuram police station, said, ‘We are interrogating the person Khan nabbed from the spot. Police teams have been deputed to nab the other two members of the gang.’
