Hospital directed to submit records of Burdwan blast accused

A fast track court on Wednesday directed the authorities of SSKM Hospital to submit medical records of Burdwan blast accused Abdul Hakim, who was admitted there following splinter injuries, to the NIA by Oct 31.
The judge gave the direction to the hospital authorities following a prayer by the NIA counsel who pleaded that the accused was not in a position to be interrogated as he was in hospital and unaware of his medical condition which was needed in the interest of the investigation. he NIA counsel also submitted that the agency team had visited other places like Birbhum, Nadia and Murshidabad districts, besides Burdwan where the blast took place on October 2. He said that samples of the items seized during the investigation at these places would be sent for forensic testing.
