Delhi and its neighbouring cities got relief from the scorching heat on Monday as rain and thunderstorm were reported in these areas. However, in Noida’s Sector 18, near DLF Mall a signboard collapsed which left one killed and two seriously injured.
As per the report, a big signage hoarding, belonging to the Noida Authority, collapsed on two bike-borne persons and crushed a Maruti Alto car standing in front of the mall. The incident led to the death of the one, Munna Kumar, while injuring two others including a car driver. The deceased is a resident of Delhi.
According to the police, the incident occurred at around 4 pm when two persons riding on a bike came in contact with a collapsed hoarding. Munna, one who was driving a bike, suffered gruesome injuries and died on the spot. The pillion rider and the car driver also suffered severe injuries and were admitted to the district hospital where their condition is stated to be critical.
“After the police was informed about the incident, a rescue team was rushed at the spot. We sent the biker’s body for post-mortem and have informed his family. The other two victims, who are yet to be identified, have been admitted at a hospital where they are recuperating,” said a senior police official who visited the spot just after the incident.
