Hindu Sena activists vandalise Pak airline’s office

Activists of a Right wing group vandalised the office of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) situated on the Barakhamba road on Thursday afternoon. According to the police, one person identified as Lalit Singh has been arrested.

The incident took place at around 3.15 pm on Thursday when four people entered the fifth floor of Narayan Manzil in the outer fringes of Connaught Place and went inside all the three rooms, broke furniture and computers.

They also allegedly raised anti-Pakistan slogans and scattered pamphlets and dismantled a miniature replica of an airplane placed near the reception desk.

By the time the cops reached the spot, three of them managed to flee from the scene while Lalit Singh was nabbed. Post the incident, security was stepped up near the PIA office. A central security force team was also rushed there later, police said.

“We have arrested Lalit Singh, member of the Hindu Sena group. Investigation is on to nab the others,” said Jatin Narwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi).

Claiming responsibility for the incident, Hindu Sena chief Vishnu Gupta said: “It was not an attack. It was just an act through which our members expressed their anger over the Pathankot attacks and attacks on the Indian consulate in Afghanistan. Breaking chairs and computer is not like dropping bombs which Pakistanis do. Our Prime Minister must respect our emotions and do something about the recent attacks instead of just holding ‘talks’.”
