‘Highway Patrol’ planned on Noida-Greater Noida e-way

The Noida Authority and Noida police were receiving flak for failing to curb endless fatal accidents on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway (e-way). To ensure safety to the people on the expressway, the authority and the city police has decided to come up with a ‘Highway Patrolling’ team. Eight Innova cars, two cranes, two ambulances are expected to be deployed on the e-way.

Bharti Singh, SP traffic, Noida, said that the PCR vans would be deployed at four stretches on the 23 km long expressway and ‘any person can contact the PCR by dialing 100 and he would be connected to the team which is at the nearest spot to the comlainant’.

In a reality check, there are only 40 PCR vans for patrolling the city and it is certainly a very alarming number considering the size and population of the city. These PCR vans were shuffled everyday but with a dedicated team for the expressway, the Noida police is confident that it could keep a check on the e-way.

Singh informed that her department had sent a proposal to the Noida Authority for deploying two cranes, eight Innova cars and two ambulances on both sides of the expressway. The police are expecting to get the vehicles by the first week of December.
