Heroin worth rs 35 crore seized

The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday seized heroin worth Rs 35 crore, allegedly smuggled from Pakistan, near the Chanmulla border outpost. A BSF patrol party spotted some suspicious movement along the Indo-Pak border in the wee hours and when they moved in the direction three rounds of gun fire were shot at them from the Pakistan side, a BSF official said. On reaching the spot, the patrol party found seven packets of heroin weighing seven kgs, he said adding, the drug was smuggled from Pakistan to India. The smugglers managed to flee under the cover of darkness, the BSF official said.
