In the same month last year, it had sold 5,02,305 units, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.
Hero MotoCorp senior vice president (marketing and sales) Anil Dua said: Despite a sluggish market environment, we have been able to achieve such robust volumes due to a slew of strategic initiatives that we rolled out.
‘The path-breaking 5-year warranty on our entire range of motorcycles and scooters has received an overwhelming response from our customers, as have our several brand and corporate campaigns,’ he said.
Yamaha sales jump 28%
New Delhi: Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd on Monday reported a 27.9 per cent growth in total two-wheeler sales at 57,160 units in November 2013 as compared to 44,688 units in the same month last year. Domestic sales increased by 6.5 per cent at 39,777 units as against 37,344 units in the same month last year, the company said in a statement.
Yamaha Motor India Pvt Ltd vice president (sales & marketing) Roy Kurian said: 'We are very pleased with our consistent sales performance this year at a 34 per cent average sales growth that can be attributed to our strong product portfolio, upbeat customer confidence and new launches in the scooter segment.'
He further said the company is extremely positive about its special edition FZ series motorcycle, new scooters Ray Precious Edition and Ray Z. '
The scooter segment has also caught on and is expected to be the growth driver for the two-wheeler industry. All this makes us quite confident about continuing our growth story in the coming months as well,' he added.
HMSI sales rev up 43%
New Delhi: Two-wheeler major Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Monday reported a 43 per cent jump in sales at 3,19,080 units for November 2013.
The company’s total sales stood at 2,23,145 units in the same month last year.
Motorcycle sales registered a rise of 39 per cent to 1,50,995 units in November 2013, from 1,08,403 units in November 2012, HMSI said in a statement.
The company also reported an increase of 46 per cent in scooter sales at 1,68,085 units from 1,14,742 units in November 2012, it said.
Commenting on sales HMIL vice president ( sales & marketing) Yadvinder Singh Guleria said: ‘With a phenomenal 43 per cent YoY growth in November, Honda has grown at double the average industry growth of 22 per cent. Setting new records, HMSI sold 80,000 units alone on Dhanteras which emphasises customers preference for Honda two wheelers during the festive season’.
