The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court on Friday issued notices to Uttar Pradesh government and the Centre while hearing a PIL in IAS Durga Shakti Nagpal suspension case.
The court has asked the state government to give details of what actions were being taken against the mining mafias in the region.
The details should contain how many FIRs were lodged, how many dumpers seized and how many people were arrested.
The Centre and the UP government have been given two weeks time to reply and the next date of hearing is 19 August.
A division bench of the court comprising Justices Devi Prasad Singh and Ashok Pal Singh hearing the PIL filed by social activist Nutan Thakur on merit, however, did not intervene into the Noida SDM’s suspension issue since it is a service matter and the Centre as well as the state government will have to decide on it.
